Our trip to Techniquest

On our recent trip to Techniquest we learnt about ourselves as our topic is 'All About Me'. We saw a show which was all about exploring our bodies. We then had a lot of fun exploring all the science projects around Techniquest. Take a look at our photos below and on the link.

Supertatoes!!!!!!

We loved creating our own Supertato character today. Each creation was inspired by a superhero in their own families. Well done everyone, they're great!

Cricket

After a fabulous 4 weeks learning cricket skills with Mr Aubrey from Cricket Wales we ended with a fabulous afternoon in Pontypridd Rugby ground putting our skills to the test. We had an amazing time with Mr Aubrey and a few of us have taken cricket up as a sport. Thank you Mr Aubrey!!

Wonderful Colour Mixing

Year one have had a fun filled day exploring colour mixing and creating their own rainbows. They are loving our first Summer topic - Wicked Weather!

Design and Technology Challenge

Look at the Year 1 children using their problem solving, collaboration and creativity skills to succeed in this design and technology challenge. The children created some amazing structures including a pirate ship and a fairy castle!

Year 1 love learning collaboratively! We have been working in pairs and groups to match sentences with pictures and to play number based games. It's great fun.

Afternoon Tea

As part of our Fair Trade topic we are having an 'Afternoon Tea Party' on Monday 3rd April. The children will be able to sample a selection of Fair Trade food.

We would like the children to dress in their 'best' clothes to add to the occasion.
